About Me

Based in Forres in Moray,  I am a fully qualified teacher, registered with the GTCS (General Teaching Council of Scotland), qualified in both mathematics and physics with science.

For several years I taught mathematics and physics at schools in the North of Scotland, including mainstream  state schools, Steiner Waldorf, and a state school for young people taken out of mainstream.

I enjoy helping people of all ages and all abilities – in mathematics and physics  from S1 up to Higher and Advanced Higher (or AS and A2 ) levels, in Chemistry up to National 5 and Higher and University and College students doing degrees in mathematics, engineering, and physics.

Before training as a teacher I worked as a senior development engineer and physicist with international companies including Zellweger Analytics (infrared gas detection instrumentation) and Pilkington Optronics.  I taught at the University of the West of Scotland for six years in the department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, and later part time at Abertay University and the Robert Gordon University.  I qualified as a Chartered Engineer with the IEE. My specialist areas were optics, electricity and magnetism, infra red gas detection and production testing.

I also work for North Tutors of Elgin, and tutor at the major International school in this Capture photo mearea, Gordonstoun.
